THE STORY OF THE FINNISH BAND MYSTERIA
in brief
Mysteria is a prog-rock-pop-metal band from Helsinki / Southern Finland, with female vocals. Band was founded by vocalist Niki in 2003, based on her
tunes and an
idea
of how they should sound with a band of two guitars and keys. The band started as a trio and stayed that way for a while, recording demos
and
arranging tunes,
untill the line-up
of 5
was complete and reaady for action.
First official release from the band,
Out Of The Blue EP,
came out in the end of December 2006 with former drummer Jyrie playing in it. In November 2008
band
welcomed their new drummer Perttu and began to plan for their second release.
Recordings started in March
2009.
At that time for various
reasons it was unpossible for the band to work in short order
so they
agreed
to proceed with a
peaceful
pace without changing anything in the band.
Now, in 2011 Mysteria breaks the silence with new release "Prefatory". Out & available on April 8th!
On August 7th, 2011 line-up changed again when the 5 welcomed a new member, Osku Ketola in the band to take care of Mysteria keyboards. The man first
visited on Prefatory album and played Semifinal (2011) gig with Mysteria. Band is very pleased about this permanent arrangement. 'Not only Osku is a talented
keyboardist and a perfect add to our musical scene but also a great person in many ways. Welcome on board'!
